What We Do
UAV-Based LiDAR Data Acquisition
TopoMetriks conducts drone-mounted LiDAR surveys using advanced UAV platforms designed for precision, stability, and repeatable data capture. Each mission is carefully planned to ensure full coverage, optimal point density, and consistent data quality across varied terrain and vegetation conditions. Our LiDAR collections routinely achieve very high point densities, allowing for detailed representation of ground surfaces, vegetation structure, and built features—especially valuable in forested and topographically complex environments.
LiDAR Processing & Terrain Modeling
Following data acquisition, we apply professional geospatial workflows to produce clean, well-organized datasets suitable for analysis and visualization. Our deliverables commonly include:
Classified LiDAR point clouds (LAS)
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) for ground surface analysis
Digital Surface Models (DSMs) representing vegetation and structures
Photo orthomosaics
Contour datasets compatible with GIS and CAD software
All datasets undergo internal quality review for completeness, alignment, and internal consistency prior to delivery.
GIS-Ready & CAD-Compatible Deliverables
TopoMetriks designs deliverables to integrate seamlessly into client workflows. Outputs are provided in industry-standard formats that support:
Environmental planning and land-management analysis
Site assessment
Conceptual and preliminary design
Terrain visualization
We focus on making complex spatial data clear, accessible, and immediately usable—not just technically correct.
Online Point Cloud Hosting & Visualization
Like all liDAR point clouds, LAS files are typically hard for the client to view. For projects that benefit from seeing the raw data, we offer cloud-hosted point cloud visualization, allowing clients to explore LiDAR data in an interactive web environment without specialized software. This capability is especially useful for project teams, reviewers, and stakeholders who need intuitive access to spatial data.
Professional Use & Regulatory Limitations
TopoMetriks’ UAV LiDAR data and derived products are provided for informational, planning, visualization, and preliminary analysis purposes only. Certain applications—such as boundary determination, legal property descriptions, construction staking, final grading design, drainage design, and engineering certification—require review, approval, and/or preparation by a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or licensed Civil Engineer, as required by state and local regulations.
TopoMetriks does not provide licensed land surveying or civil engineering services, and its deliverables are not a substitute for work that must be performed or certified by licensed professionals.
Surveying & Engineering Disclaimer
While UAV LiDAR is a powerful tool for understanding terrain and site conditions, its use is subject to professional and regulatory limitations. Data collected and processed by TopoMetriks does not establish or verify property boundaries, is not suitable for legal descriptions or recorded maps, is not certified for final engineering or construction documents, and may not meet tolerances required for as-built surveys or construction staking.
Applications requiring compliance with the Professional Land Surveyors’ Act, the Professional Engineers Act, or other jurisdictional requirements must be reviewed and approved by a licensed Professional Land Surveyor or Civil Engineer. Clients are responsible for engaging appropriately licensed professionals when required.
